An Advertising Agency Site Tells You Plenty

An Advertising Agency Site Tells You Plenty
When you look at an advertising agency’s website, which I’m sure you have been if you’ve come here, you will almost always know right away whether they are professionals. The site’s design is part of that, but just a part.
The overall feel of the site will be your first clue. A site that is cluttered, disjointed, or that clashes unreasonably is not professional. The copy on the site is your next clue.
Website copy that is pushy, talks only about services or uses a lot of trendy jargon shows that the so-called ad agency is amateurish. That might work for get-rich-quick schemes, but it should never be trusted when your business’ marketing future is at .
Finally, and importantly, if the advertising agency site offers nothing of value to you in the information it displays, the agency doesn’t understand true marketing. Especially as it applies to the Internet.
Most advertising agencies offer limited-run advertising, direct marketing, Internet marketing services, and so forth. Most specialize in one or two areas of advertising or selling. Few are true marketing firms.
If you’re simply looking for an advertising agency to handle some advertising runs or promotions for you, then any professional advertising agency will probably do. If you’re looking to create a marketing strategy of advertising in order to maximize returns over the long run, however, you’ll need a marketing firm. Professional marketing firms are hard to come by. Most are fly-by-night operations run out of a basement or garage and offer little in the way of experience or benefit. Professionals, like Wag the Dog Marketing, offer integrated services in a variety of media to create powerful strategies to make long-term benefit a reality.
It doesn’t take much to throw a few ads at some newspapers or magazines and get mediocre results. It takes a professional to put targeted ads in the right venues with the right timing to make a strong impression over time and create a brand as well as sales.
Advertising Agency Site Offers
When you look at an ad agency or marketing website, beware the “special offer” or the “limited time” discounts. Professionals do not do this. They will offer package deals or special pricing for specific clients, but never blanket deals or discounts.
In fact, most marketing firms do not list pricing on their websites at all. The prices and fees charged are usually based on the client’s needs, the details of the work to be done, or the length of the term for the marketing strategy. For instance, a long-term, three year marketing strategy will likely cost less per individual task or advertising type, but will involve a contract and long-term agreement as well.
A Professional Advertising Agency Site
Many sites from advertising agencies will include a lot of information and rates for short run or simple advertising. For an ad agency that deals in short-run, straight advertising, there’s nothing wrong with this.
Beware the “marketing” website that does the same, however. Advertising is one thing, marketing is quite another. Marketing uses advertising to accomplish it’s goals, but advertising is not marketing.
Be wary of the pushy Internet marketer who talks about marketing as if it were advertising or a scheme to get “big results fast.
